Organized Physics for RTTs

Physics you
can hold.

3D-printed lab kits and a registry review book that turn HVLs, magnification, interactions and decay into things students build, drop, shake and count.

Radiation Physics (for RTTs)

Kristen McConnell, PhD, DABR

A practical review for radiation therapy students: clinic, coursework and the registry exam. Atomic structure, decay, x-ray production, attenuation, interactions, shielding, imaging and dose calculation, with key idea boxes and board-style practice questions.

Hands-on lab kits

No electronics, no apps. Each kit comes with mission cards and a teacher key, and maps to the book's chapters. Kits are launching soon. Email me to hear when they're ready.

Shielding

Shield Stack

Build a 6 MV vault wall brick by brick. Every brick is one HVL of concrete, steel or lead. The boss mission is a real primary barrier.

Imaging

Mag Bench

A tiny radiography bench. Set SID and SOD, predict the image, find the matching coded card, then prove it with threads from the focal spot.

Interactions

Photon Pachinko

One ball, one photon. Drop 100 and the bins match the physics: why bone lights up at 30 keV and nearly disappears at 6 MV.

Decay

Hot Pigs

Shake lead-pig cups full of coin, cube and d12 atoms. Count the survivors and watch three different half-lives appear.

Teaching an RTT program?

Class sets, purchase orders and invoices will be available. Tell me your program, how many teams, and which kits interest you, and I'll reach out when they're ready.
